Steven Tyler

Steven TylerAfter a brief stint in the Boston club circuit under the tutelage of their manager of the first time, Frank Connelly, the band began to work with New York managers Steve Leber and David Krebs. The band signed a record contract in 1972, and then released their debut album entitled "Eponymous" in 1973. The album was then followed by Get Your Wings and Toys in the Attic and Rocks. This brought Aerosmith international fame and recognition. The albums that inspired them were the basis of iconic hits like "Dream On", Walk This Way, as well as "Sweet Emotion". Aerosmith's first five albums have also all gone multi-platinum, as well as Toys in the Attic and Rocks are thought to be among the most influential hard rock albums ever made. Aerosmith began to feel the effects of their hectic lifestyle of recording, touring as well as living together, and also using drugs as the decade was progressing. Because of their famed use of heroin and stimulants, Tyler and Perry were often referred to as the Toxic Twins. Their relationship is documented in numerous Aerosmith's video albums and in the Aerosmith Behind the Music. Tyler, apparently much more committed to the group appeared to dislike Perry's passiveness and admire Perry's focus on females in his life. Aerosmith's gradual decline was probably because of the tension between Tyler and Perry and their former friends.
